The archive is also a node
JTA is the principal archival nexus. Detroit Jewish News, Canadian Jewish News and AJPA expose appointments, biographies, governance and cross-border institutional relationships.
Topic 02 · The feeder · Who feeds the bench?
The endpoint is not the system. A Supreme Court shortlist can only draw from the candidate pool produced beneath it. This yard follows the schools, clerkships, firms, government offices, lower courts, publications and appointment gates that make that pool.
The graph separates documented relationships from hypotheses still requiring a record. Identity classifications are never inferred from surnames. Connection is not treated as proof of control, coordination or causation.
Change the projection, drag the network, and set a node or connection to inspect its evidence. Each view asks a different structural question of the same provisional record.
The complete provisional record: every encoded node and relationship in one force-directed view.
The constitutional appointment is the final switch. The feeder begins much earlier, where admission, credential, employment and appointment gates narrow the field.
Admissions, faculty sponsorship and the institutions that disproportionately feed clerkships.
Judges repeatedly place clerks into elite firms, government legal offices and later judicial consideration.
Recurring routes into the Solicitor General, OLC, DOJ leadership and White House Counsel.
Offices where appellate records, executive trust and nomination networks accumulate.
The first Article III appointment and a public record of nomination and confirmation.
The principal modern pool from which Supreme Court shortlists are assembled.
Recommendation, screening and advocacy before the formal nomination becomes public.
Presidential nomination and Senate consent convert the accumulated route into public authority.
Four layers are already mapped. The graph is provisional because publication coverage is uneven and the longitudinal appellate dataset is not yet complete.
JTA is the principal archival nexus. Detroit Jewish News, Canadian Jewish News and AJPA expose appointments, biographies, governance and cross-border institutional relationships.
AJCongress, NJCRAC and associated counsel connect constitutional litigation, coalition briefs, nominee vetting and Senate-facing advocacy. NJCRAC archival material identifies a Committee on Judicial Nominations.
Formal federation, publication and international-governance structures connect the cities. Publication nodes are treated as sources and, where documented, as institutions in the network.
Provisional edge-class ablation leaves formal governance relationships doing more to hold the hand-built graph together than family, education or publication edges alone.
These people connect otherwise separate parts of the provisional graph. A bridge is a topological description—not a claim that the person directed the network.
The charity-revocation investigation tested whether removing one institution destroys the surrounding network. It produced useful controls, but it is not evidence about the judicial feeder.
An existing charity was renamed to perform similar work after revocation, with old-board endorsement and personnel and infrastructure continuity.
Federal Court material records an executive bridge, same-address restructuring and an expressed intention to transfer operations. CRA later intervened against the receiving node.
Corporation survival, international networks, adjacent entities and enforcement latency also appear in unrelated cases. Those facts alone do not establish a self-healing mechanism.
The next dataset is longitudinal. It must reconstruct comparable appellate benches at fixed snapshots instead of freezing a single historical estimate.
Law school · clerkships · firm · DOJ or government service · district court · appellate appointment · appointing president · circuit · documented organizational relationships.
Classification rule: religious, ethnic and ancestry classifications require documentary support. They are never inferred from names or association alone.
