He ran Oxford from 2004 to 2009, chaired the Rhodes Trust from 2011, and sat on the boards of WPP and Blackstone. A Rhodes Scholar of 1976 himself. The university, the scholarship that feeds it, and the capital — in that order, held by the same person.
